R.I. Tea Party group, GOP launch new websites
A Rhode Island Tea Party group and the state Republican Party both launched new websites this month.
Ocean State Tea Party in Action, which broke from the Rhode Island Tea Party last year, called its new site a “one-of-a-kind source of information.”
The Ocean State group’s site features a database of state representatives and senators, showing, among other things, how much in campaign contributions a lawmaker receives from labor unions, how a lawmaker voted on certain issues (such as last year’s pension-overhaul legislation), and whether he or she participates in a public pension system.
The Rhode Island Republican Party, meanwhile, launched a sleek new website this month placing its social media offerings — a YouTube channel, Twitter feed and Facebook page — front and center.
