This is an unproveable claim. How many times do the police access that registry? How many times does it aid the investigation or crimes for the police?
Policing organizations around Canada all oppose getting rid of it.
It does NOT makes sense that the Canadian government is tightening internet security and loosening investigative tools on gun crimes.
I just can’t comprehend that. There was recently two RCMPs shot at in Killum Alberta here. There is a VERY high likelihood that the police accessed that information from the long gun registry.
