Other issues need our attention | TriCities.com
One can’t help but to notice the passion of many people on a couple of local issues. Yet more important issues don’t receive much local attention. I’d like to address that.
First, there has been a tremendous amount of attention directed at the ordered euthanasia at the Mercer Co. Animal Shelter. It is a real shame that so many animals were euthanized at the shelter, but this needs to be put into proper perspective.
God commanded that we be good stewards over the earth. However, many people who will show outrage over the death of animals won’t say anything about the loss of human life through abortion.
Secondly, there has been a real commotion in Giles and Mercer Counties because the ACLU is trying to take the Ten Commandments, and ultimately any mention of God, out of our local schools and public places. This anti-Christian organization has been working in our nation for years to end any public mention of God and Jesus Christ. Their actions show them to be anti-Christian, and their political supporters are guilty by association. Anyone who denies that the ACLU consists mainly of Democrats, Socialsits, and Communists are denying reality!
If the local people who denounce either the mass animal euthanasia or banning of the Ten Commandments vote for Democrats, then they are guilty of supporting the political party which is (in large part) responsible for many such local and national problems.
If we as a people, only speak out for what’s right in response to local incidents, then what kind of country will we leave to our children? If we can’t recognize that the Democrat Party is culpable in many of the wrongs being committed on both the local and national levels, then what kind of leaders will we leave our children subject to?
